Disclaimers & Policies
This is a personal weblog, which means:
- All thoughts, opinions, and plans expressed here are solely mine, and not of my University, family, relatives, friends, neighbors, doctors, bankers, home mortgage lender, investment brokers, or fellow bus/subway riders etc.
- I am not a financial advisor or expert of any kind, and I share my thoughts and opinions with you freely with no intention of doing harm. Your use of any material presented here is entirely your responsibility.
- This is a blog with an evolving content. As I learn more with time, my thoughts, opinions and words will change, and what you read here today may no longer be accurate later.
- Content of external sources pointed to by all outbound and inbound links also change with time, on which I have no control, and take no responsibility.
- I assume implicit link-sharing consent from all external sources linked to this site. Please let me know if you would like to have your link modified or removed.
- The content of this blog is not intended to malign any religion, ethnic group, club, organization, company, individual, government or other laws from your country of origin.
- Image use policy: Other than those I design myself, images used here are originally obtained from public domain, which are then substantially modified by me before being shown. Whenever a downloaded image is used as is (which is rare), it is linked to the source URL and the original artist’s name, if available. If you are not satisfied with my attribution, please let me know with the details of whether or how you like to be mentioned, and I will edit or remove the image accordingly.
Commenting Policy
I learn a lot from intelligent conversations, and welcome all comments – supportive,
critical or otherwise – without any pre-moderation (unless this is your very first comment on this site) or pre-registration. But I will censor or delete any comment that I find abusive, off-topic, inflammatory, or generally unsuitable.
In this regard I agree with Alexander Meiklejohn that our right of free speech does not guarantee “unregulated talkativeness” or that “everyone shall speak”, but “everything worth saying shall be said”.
To help maintain a positive atmosphere, please keep these in mind:
- Use a personal or non-commercial URL for your website that tells us who you are, and not what you sell (see below for a rare exception).
- Use your real name or nickname, and not a commercial keyword just to get some SEO juice.
- I have zero tolerance on foul language. This is a family-friendly place (think of “PG13″ rating), and abusive comments will be heavily censored or deleted.
- Do not post any spam comment, or spam/phishing link. Repeat offense will get you banned.
- Constructive comments that add value to the discussion are much welcome. So, while “Nice post” or “I do not agree” does not violate any aforesaid rule, please say why you agree or disagree. (I may even go easy on your commercial link, but not commercial name, if you consistently post insightful comments.)
- You alone are responsible, legally or otherwise, for your words with all of their direct and indirect implications. But, by posting them here, you are granting me the right, in perpetuity, to use and display them any way I see fit.
All comments pass through (automated) spam filters before showing up. On rare occasions, these filters flag well-meaning comments that did not violate any rule. If you think your comment is among these, do let me know.
